How to Set Up Email Forwarding for Tradrux (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail)
Tradrux never logs into your inbox. It works from a simple forwarding rule you control. Here's how that rule works and how to create one in the three most common email apps.
Most business software asks for the keys to your inbox. Tradrux doesn't. Instead, you set up a forwarding rule in your own email account, and Tradrux reads only what that rule sends it.
This guide explains how that works and what to expect in Gmail, Outlook, and Apple Mail.
What You're Actually Setting Up
When you sign up, Tradrux gives you a personal inbound address. It looks something like parse-yourbusiness0187@in.aitriagr.com. That address is yours.
A forwarding rule tells your email app: "When a message arrives that matches these conditions, send a copy to this address too." Tradrux receives the copy, reads it, sorts it, and files it. Your original message stays right where it was in your inbox.
There's no password sharing and no connection to your email account. If you delete the rule, Tradrux stops receiving your mail immediately.
Before You Start
Have two things ready:
- Your Tradrux inbound address. Copy it from the setup screen rather than retyping it. One wrong character and nothing arrives.
- A decision about what to forward. You don't have to forward everything. See the tips at the bottom.
The setup screen inside Tradrux has tabbed, step-by-step instructions for each email app. What follows is the short version.
Gmail
- Open Gmail on a computer and go to Settings, then See all settings.
- Open the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab and add your Tradrux address as a forwarding address. Gmail may ask you to confirm it before it will forward anything.
- Open the Filters and Blocked Addresses tab and create a filter for the messages you want forwarded. You can filter by sender, subject, or label.
- Choose "Forward it to" and select your Tradrux address.
Outlook
- Go to Settings, then Mail, then Rules.
- Add a new rule and set the condition. That might be a specific sender, a keyword, or all incoming mail.
- Set the action to forward the message to your Tradrux address.
- Save the rule.
Apple Mail
Apple Mail on a Mac supports rules too. Open Mail's settings, go to Rules, and add a rule with the action "Forward Message" pointing at your Tradrux address. If you use iCloud Mail on the web, you can set up forwarding rules in its settings.
Test It
Back on the Tradrux setup screen, send the test. Tradrux generates a fresh probe so it can detect that your rule is working. If it isn't detected after a few minutes:
- Re-copy the address from the setup screen and compare it to what's in your rule.
- Check your email provider's forwarding or sent logs to confirm the rule fired. Some providers delay new rules by a few minutes.
- Resend the test to generate a fresh probe.
Tips
- Start narrow. Forward just your lead inbox, a specific label, or your voicemail-to-email messages first. You can widen the rule later.
- New mail only. Forwarding rules apply to messages that arrive after the rule is created, not your history.
- Voicemail counts. If your phone provider emails you voicemail recordings, forward those too. Tradrux transcribes and triages them like any other message.
